Ugly Cup is a small batch coffee roaster located in Salt Lake City, Utah. We were founded in 2011 with the intent of roasting and delivering the best beans we possibly could to the public. We roast using small batch methods to ensure that we capture the nuances in good, specialty coffee. All of our fulfillment is using a carbon neutral shipping service, and 2% of our revenue will go straight to Shelter the Homeless charity, and another 5% of revenue will go to the Salt Lake Climbers Alliance. These charities were hand-picked by David, the operator of Ugly Cup Coffee. David has spent his whole life in Salt Lake City, surrounded by coffee and outdoors sports. Every year, he would ski and climb, which is what inspired the choice in charity. We also believe heavily in growing with the community and supporting those who are down, which is why we support Shelter the Homeless. We also recommend that you donate to these charitable causes on your own, but you might as well drink coffee that helps the outdoors!

We opened our site to the public on 1/1/2020, and in the past month, with minimal advertising and help from customers like you, we have donated $121.55 to the SLCA. That equates to over 30% of our online revenue for 2020.
Our goal for 2020 is to have completely biodegradable products, the coffee bag, the mailers, and everything in between. This will take a lot of effort, but we are willing to do it for the environment. We expect to have completely biodegradable coffee bags (non-petroleum based lining) before April, and mailers by December. We plan to have stickers that are printed with soy ink and use a biodegradable adhesive.
